I have lived in Castle Rock for almost my whole life. Other than the two months between my birth and when my family moved here or the four years I was in college but still had my permanent address in Castle Rock, I have been here for 30 years. From going to elementary school at Rock Ridge and Flagstone, to middle school at Mesa and high school at Douglas County. Now I am here raising my family. 

After getting my Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy, I moved back home to work for my mother at her small business on Wilcox. In that job, I got to see how many small businesses were here and thriving. After that job, I worked for the Town of Castle Rock in the Parks and Recreation division. In that job, I got to learn how our community comes together and how hard Town employees work to make Castle Rock such a special place to live. I now work for the Douglas County Libraries where I get to travel all over the county and while Douglas County is a great place, Castle Rock is still a shining star (and that’s not just because of the fixture on our beloved rock). 

I think I would be a great mayor because I have seen this town grow so much while I’ve been here. I am part of a young family so I can speak to how hard it is to live in Castle Rock right now with small children. I know the importance of understanding and speaking on behalf of the people that live here. As far as corporate interests, I have absolutely none. My only interests are in the people that live and work in this town. I am someone who will ask questions to figure out the best possible outcome and listen to others who have experience where I may lack it. 

At the end of the day, Castle Rock strives to maintain its small-town feel. I think that can be accomplished by building a community of mutual respect, by being welcoming to new residents and guests to our town, and by enjoying our wonderful town together with our many events and traditions. They say it takes a village, so let’s get out there and be villagers for our community.
